‍ ‍

Bundle quality control protects the work that happens after a brand decides what should be sold together. The checklist below helps teams confirm components, labels, packaging, and inventory rules before repeated bundle builds create repeated errors.

A CSV checklist template has been prepared for upload. Use the steps below to prepare a bundle program for scoping, and add the download link after the file is uploaded in Squarespace.

Bundle QC checklist

  1. Confirm the bill of materials: every component SKU, quantity, variation, and substitution rule.

  2. Confirm the finished bundle identifier: bundle SKU, marketplace identifier, barcode, ASIN, or FNSKU when applicable.

  3. Receive and count components before staging assembly work.

  4. Approve one finished sample before the full build.

  5. Review labels, barcodes, inserts, warnings, and packaging placement.

  6. Check carton or mailer fit so packaging is protective without wasting space.

  7. Run count checks during assembly, not only at the end.

  8. Separate damaged, missing, mislabeled, or mismatched components for exception review.

  9. Confirm inventory decrement rules so each bundle consumes the correct component quantities.

  10. Reconcile completed bundles, remaining components, damage, and exceptions.

How this supports bundling fulfillment

The checklist gives both sides a common operating language before launch. For commercial support, see product bundling fulfillment services. For kit-style programs, see kitting services. For cost planning, use the kitting and bundling calculator.

Frequently asked questions

What should be checked before a bundle is shipped?

Check the component count, bundle SKU, labels, barcode visibility, inserts, packaging, finished sample approval, exception handling, and inventory decrement rules.

Why is bundle quality control different from normal picking?

Bundle errors can affect every repeated unit in a build. A bad count, label, or packout rule can multiply quickly if it is not caught early.

Can this checklist be used for kitting too?

Yes, but kit programs may need additional checks for presentation order, instructions, personalized items, lot or expiration data, or finished-kit staging.
